Simple Single Shuttle BUTTERFLY Bookmark

I've finally gotten around to figuring out how to use PAINT to do a tatting diagram over top of a finished item. It's my first time giving it a try and it's not near as nice as many who use a paint program on a regular basis. If you happen to use it regularly and can give me a course on how to use it efficiently, I'd greatly appreciate it. In the meantime, at least the work I've done isn't unusable. I hope you enjoy it, and feel free to PIN it elsewhere. I do not want to see it up on another web site without my permission. In the meantime, make as many as you like. Gift them or sell them. Either way is fine with me, but please give credit where credit is due and don't pass this off as your own pattern. Any replication/duplication of any previous patterns out there similar to the Simple Single Shuttle BUTTERFLY Bookmark are unintentional.

Long Time no Tatting Post :(

Oh my goodness! Has it really been that long since I've posted here? I guess it must be. Shame on me. Well, you know how it is when you get busy and let life get in the way. I shouldn't say that. I'm very satisfied with the things that have been keeping me occupied. My God, Jehovah, family, friends and I'm finally back into designing and working up some fun patterns that I've collected but not done anything with. Well, now I am. I'm working on designing earrings, I've always been a lover of the big dangly, chandelier earrings. I've never worn them; believing that my neck is just to short for anything that dangles. But, I believe I'm going to at least give them a try. If I still feel I can't wear them...I'll just make some less-dangly earrings, but DANGLE they will. Actually, I'm working on several patterns and will be working together an eBook of earrings. So, stay tuned. And, if you're not following me yet, this would probably be a good time to do so.

How are you using the rosette pattern in your tatting

I'm working on designing a bonnet pattern. How about you? What will you use it for? Embellishments? a doily, baby blanket? What will it be?

Edited Rosette

While I liked my rosette the way that it was, I found that one small change was needed to make it better. Thus, I've made that change so that you can enjoy it the way that I do it now. I always want to do things the easy and better way. I think I've accomplished both with the changes. Hope you enjoy it.

Latest Design

Please ignore the part on the right (it's already been snipped off) and much more lace has been worked.

This is my latest design that I call Elephant Tatted Lace. Can you see the Elephant?

I'm making this lace for a dear sweet friend of mine. She'll be stitching it to the hem of a skirt. I hope she'll email me a picture after she's done with it. I can't wait to see it. This is a pattern that I'll put on www.bellaonline.com/site/tatting once I figure out how to embed a picture into the articles.

Not being lazy

No, I've not been lazy. In fact, I've been extremely busy with my tatting. I've been attempting to clean out the old files at BellaOnline/tatting but, it's such a huge undertaking, I'm afraid it will take me a month of Sunday's before I have the task completed. In the meantime, I'm tatting lace, designing a necklace and have started designing some baby booties. Since I can no longer find the free online pattern (along with the picture), I figured that others are trying to find it as well. And, I was right. My readers have contacted me about the matter. The best I have been able to do is to point them to the archives at www.waybackmachine.com and have them put the old link in there. I was able to find one that was unbroken with hand drawn pictures of the diagrams but, that's the best I could come up with.

Thus, I'm working on my own pattern. I'll be sure to let eerybody know when I do finally get it finished. I'll have it available for free (for a short time only). so, if you're looking for a free tatted bootie pattern, you'll have to make sure you're following my thread and snag it when it's up. After that short time, it'll be withdrawn and put into the book I'm working on.

Hmmm Bad Blogger

Apparently I've become one of those people who are a bad blogger. I thought I had posted a few of my latest tatted items to my blog but, I see that they're not there. SOOOO, I'm making an attempt to do a better job at keeping up.

Feel free to post a comment if I get behind with my posting.

Cro-tating bookmarks

Since this can be classified as crochet and tat (of sorts), I'll post this to both my crocheting and my tatting blogs.

I hadn't done any cro-tatting in quit an age. But, looking at my various craft implements, I was drawn to my cro-hook. So, looking up some of the online patterns (as my cro-tatting patterns are buried somewhere), I found a 'beginners' pattern for tatted bookmarks. Following this pattern-even using the same shade of red-I completed the pattern without any complications; only to decide that this was just too little. So, I changed the pattern just a bit and made it a bit wideer and longer. Ahhhh! Smiles all around.

As soon as I get a photo taken, I'll post it here.

Has anybody done any cro-tatting lately? I haven't done any for a while but, last night I pulled out one of my cro-hooks and made a couple of bookmarkers. Now, I'm working on designing one that's heartshaped and made in a size #10 cotton. I'll post these as soon as I get some pictures taken.

What to expect

Hello everybody and welcome to my tatting blog.

Here, you'll find tips, tricks and techniques that you'll also find at www.bellaonline/site/tatting where you'll see that I'm the tatting editor. If you've never checked out www.bellaonline before, you may want to do so now. It's a web site 'by women and for women'. Not that I believe that men can't join and help out. But, it's a community where basically women come together to help out others. We all know how women usually get shafted when they take their car to the mechanic, right? Well, believe it or not, we have a site on auto mechanics that's written by a woman! How cool is that?

You'll find that, in tatting as well as other aspects of my life, I like to take the unconventional approach. I look at almost everything and wonder how I can use it in my crafting. Therefore, I've found many interesting ways of doing those things that I love. One of my favorites is a crochet hook that I whittled from an old tree branch. No, it's nothing special and it's not even perfectly straight or symmetrical. But, it was carved with a pairing knife and it was free. Best of all...I MADE IT! I have many suggestions on how to do tatting without a tatting shuttle, or what to substitute a tatting needle with so that you can needle tat with yarn. I'm the queen of frugal crafting!

Anyway, please subscribe to my blog so that you'll get notices of the latest updates. Also, please let me know if you have any questions about tatting or if there's a pattern you're looking for or would like to see designed (not sure when I can get around to doing the designing with everything that I dabble into, but 'it could happen').

HELLO and WELCOME

Hi everybody and welcome to my new blog for tatting. I'm hoping to give everybody something fun and interesting. But, as I'm into a lot of different crafts, don't expect daily posts. I will frequently refer to my other blogs so you may want to check them out also.
